Photosynth - a new way to show pictures

About two months ago, I learnt the news about Photosynth and gave it a try. It is a part of Microsoft Live Labs project. This place provides an unique tool to show pictures in a special way. Once pictures loaded into a new photo album, Photosynth is trying to analyzing these pictures and put together if these pictures are related. If I load several pictures taken around a house in different angle and zoom in on some of part. After loading, I can view this house in 3D and in detail on some of part. If original pictures are loaded, viewer can zoom in on each picture and look the detail. I really like this feature since I don't have to worry about resize the picture before I load it and still can see the detail or part I like to see. You can give it a try and see how amazing it is. The is synth rate marked for each album. The higher the synth rate, the pictures are more related which means you can see those pictures in different angle. Here is the link to Photosynth:

New Digital Camera

In last few years, more and more digital camera hit market. There is more pixels, bigger screens and more functions on those new digital cameras. This year, Nikon adds a new digital camera - P6000 with GPS function to market. I am very glad to see this digital camera from Nikon. People can use this camera and build-in GPS to take pictures with location information. After downloading pictures, one can see these pictures on google map. Right now, I am using a Sony GPS to get location data and sync with pictures I take with digital camera. With this new Nikon P6000, this sync step is done in the camera. One day, I like to get a digital camera with build-in GPS. One advantage using a separated GPS is the location log file can be downloaded and used for sync with pictures taken with several digital cameras. When we travel, several digital cameras are used. I can use the log file to add location information to pictures taken with all these digital cameras used in our trip. This log file can be shared amoung friends on the same trip to tag(add location information) pictures.
